What is the main goal of restorative care?

What this type asks

Called restorative skills under the previous outline, and renamed in a way that describes the idea better: the goal of care is the client’s own ability, not the aide’s efficiency. Range-of-motion exercises, ambulation and transfer with a gait belt, adaptive equipment, bowel and bladder retraining, and the habit that runs through all of it — waiting, prompting and standing by rather than taking over. Small area, four questions, and almost every one of them turns on the same principle.

Frequently asked

How many self-care and independence questions are on the CNA?
4. The content outline in force publishes an item count for every content area, and it gives Physical Care Skills — Self-Care and Independence 7% of the paper — 4 of the 60 scored questions (7%). The full-length test on this site deals that number rather than an even share, and the 2016 outline still printed in the free practice packet gives a different one.
Is this section timed?
Not on this page. These sets are for learning the material — each answer comes with an explanation straight away. When you want the whole paper, the full-length test runs the published clock. The real sitting is 70 questions in 120 minutes.
Are these real questions from the test?
No. Every question here is original, written to the published format. The real item banks are confidential and nobody outside the publisher has them.
