CCMA point of care testing questions
CLIA-waived testing, quality control, specimen handling and result reporting.
3.D 9 of the 150 scored questions
What does it mean that a test is waived under federal laboratory regulation?
What this type asks
Nine items on running the tests that happen in the office rather than the reference laboratory. The domain is less about the chemistry than about the controls around it: whether the test was in date, whether the control ran, whether the result is reportable, and what happens to a specimen between the patient and the analyser.
Now do it with the clock running.
180 questions in 180 minutes — about 1 minutes each, which is the part no amount of untimed practice prepares you for.

Frequently asked
- How many point of care testing questions are on the CCMA exam?
- 9. NHA states an item count for every area of the plan and never states a percentage, so 9 is the document's own figure — 9 of the 150 scored questions — and not a share this site worked out. The full-length test deals exactly that many from this area.
- Is this section timed?
- Not on this page. These sets are for learning the material — each answer comes with an explanation straight away. When you want the whole paper, the full-length test runs the published clock. The real sitting is 150 questions in 180 minutes.
- Are these real questions from the test?
- No. Every question here is original, written to the published format. The real item banks are confidential and nobody outside the publisher has them.
