What determines the scope of practice of a medical assistant?

What this type asks

The widest domain on the paper and the one least tied to any single task. It runs from how care is organised and paid for, through the language the rest of the examination is written in, into drug classifications and the routes and rights of administration, then dietary needs tied to specific conditions, and finally developmental stages and the signs of common mental health conditions. Little of it is procedural; most of it is the vocabulary and the framing that the clinical domains assume you already have.

Health care systems and settings — roles, scope of practice, delivery models, telehealth, payment modelsMedical terminology — abbreviations, The Joint Commission’s Do Not Use list, word building, positional termsBasic pharmacology — classifications, controlled substance schedules, forms, routes, rights, pharmacokineticsNutrition — dietary nutrients and guidelines, needs related to disease, vitamins, eating disordersPsychology — developmental stages, common mental health conditions, stressors, defence mechanisms, grief

Frequently asked

How many foundational knowledge questions are on the CCMA exam?
15. NHA states an item count for every area of the plan and never states a percentage, so 15 is the document's own figure — 15 of the 150 scored questions — and not a share this site worked out. The full-length test deals exactly that many from this area.
Is this section timed?
Not on this page. These sets are for learning the material — each answer comes with an explanation straight away. When you want the whole paper, the full-length test runs the published clock. The real sitting is 150 questions in 180 minutes.
Are these real questions from the test?
No. Every question here is original, written to the published format. The real item banks are confidential and nobody outside the publisher has them.
