CNA legal and ethical behaviour questions
Abuse and neglect, mandatory reporting, scope of practice and honest records.
III.C 3 of the 60 scored questions (5%)
A nurse aide suspects, but is not certain, that a client is being abused. What should the aide do?
What this type asks
What a nurse aide must do rather than what they may. Recognising and reporting abuse, neglect and misappropriation of property — including the obligation to report a suspicion rather than wait for proof, and to report a colleague. Working within the scope of the role and refusing a task outside it. And documentation as a legal record: written at the time, factual, never signed for care that was not given.

Frequently asked
- How many legal and ethical behaviour questions are on the CNA?
- 3. The content outline in force publishes an item count for every content area, and it gives Role of the Nurse Aide — Legal and Ethical Behavior 5% of the paper — 3 of the 60 scored questions (5%). The full-length test on this site deals that number rather than an even share, and the 2016 outline still printed in the free practice packet gives a different one.
- Is this section timed?
- Not on this page. These sets are for learning the material — each answer comes with an explanation straight away. When you want the whole paper, the full-length test runs the published clock. The real sitting is 70 questions in 120 minutes.
- Are these real questions from the test?
- No. Every question here is original, written to the published format. The real item banks are confidential and nobody outside the publisher has them.
